Bellamy Young was born in North Carolina in Asheville on the 19th of February, 1970. She portrayed the role of The First Lady Mellie on ABC's Scandal. Beth Clemmons, a character from CBS Criminal Minds that she often played. She was an editor and producer with Shonda Rhimes, on Scandal and Private Practice. She was a producer on Scandal as well as Private Practice. The actress graduated in 1987 of Asheville High School. In 1991, she graduated from Yale University with a degree in English and Theater.
