Selena Quintanilla Perez was an American artist. She was a very popular singer with a Texan rhythm. The singer was born on 16th April 1971 at Lake Jackson Texas. Though she was born in the United States and her first language was English her first language was English, she always was singing in Spanish. Selena grew up with a happy, loving family of Hispanic origin. The father of Selena's, Abraham Quintanilla, was also a musician, but the music he played did not get more recognition than his daughter. Selena's family took every measure to support her in learning and make use of her talents once they realised how gifted she was. Once her family discovered the talent she had, Selena began to perform in the restaurant of her father with the support of her brothers. Selena's band, which she and her brothers formed together, was called Selena & the Dinos. They became famous after recording their first single, My first recordings in 1984.
